My Story

I’m a little over 40, which means I’m young enough to know how TikTok works but old enough to need a lie down after using it. I live in the undeniably charming town of High Wycombe—a place that sounds like it should be twinned with a Jane Austen novel but is more commonly twinned with roadworks and surprisingly aggressive seagulls.

I have three children, each of whom has contributed to my greying hair, shrinking patience, and expanding heart in equal measure.

Now, if you’ve ever tried to describe your life and felt like the only appropriate format was Encyclopaedia Britannica, then you and I are probably going to get on. And if you even know what an encyclopaedia is—specifically one that isn’t “editable by anyone with Wi-Fi and a grudge”—then we might just be kindred spirits.

After more plot twists than a Netflix limited series, I graduated from university with an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Cyber Security and Artificial Intelligence—because clearly, I thought: “Why not fight crime, understand robots, and question reality all in one go?”

Professionally, I split my time running two businesses: Bright Choice Marketing and Design Climb. They both keep me busy, slightly sleep-deprived, and extremely well-acquainted with coffee. I love them, though — like two equally demanding but rewarding pets that occasionally bite.

And then—accidentally, like most British people end up in conversations about the weather—I stumbled into social media success. I posted a couple of funny videos, mostly to entertain myself and mildly irritate my friends. The next thing I knew, people were sharing them, following me, and saying things like “You should do stand-up.” (To which I reply, “I do. Every time I parent in public.”)

I’ve never considered myself a comedian. But I am, undeniably, the most sarcastic person I know. It’s a gift. Or a curse. Depends who you ask. My sarcasm has made some people laugh, others roll their eyes, and at least one person say, “Are you always like this?” (Answer: Yes.)

Some people find me hilarious. Others find me infuriating. But I’ve come to terms with the fact that I’m not for everyone. I’m not even for me before 10 a.m. But I am who I am — a slightly chaotic, overthinking, multitasking human who somehow juggles parenting, business, writing, and being accidentally funny on the internet.

I’m Saj Tameez — unfiltered, occasionally overcaffeinated, and just trying to make sense of the chaos with a bit of sarcasm and a straight face.
